The U.S. Department of Health recently stated that, "It is important
that we treat common developmental disabilities, and especially
ASDs, as conditions of urgent public health concern."
The Mission of Stomp Out the Silence of Autism and Disabilities Inc
is to expand the potential for children and adults with autism by
providing services such as therapy, integration advocacy, vocational
training, life-skills instruction, assisted living, respite and resource
centers. Our goals further include coordinating awareness efforts
and collaborating with other organizations with similar goals.
To learn more about autism visit our Facts, Asperger's Syndrome,
and our "What is autism?" page. To understand the impact autism
has on children and their families, and to read a first hand account of
how autism services can change their lives, read Ryan's Story.
To learn how the community is coming together to spread
awareness and support services for those who have been
diagnosed, visit the SOAR page, Events, the Write Story, Our Heroes,
the Race for President of Autism Awareness Month, and Our
Supporters.
Get involved, become aware, and learn
how to change the world for those who
have been diagnosed. 1 in every 150
children and adults will be diagnosed
within the autism spectrum (also called
Autism Spectum Disorder, or ASD).
Thank you to everyone who came out to Bandimere
for Race for Autism! We had a successful event and
it was great to hear the crowd roar for Susan Olsen.
Your participation was wonderful!
